Nada Bedair is an Egyptian writer, director, and producer working internationally. A BAFTA Scholar and an alumna of the 2024 FLC Artists Academy at Film at Lincoln Center, she holds an MFA in Film and Television from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, an MA in Museum and Gallery Practices from University College London, and a BS in Media Industries and Technology from Northwestern University, where she also studied Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Films she has written, directed, or produced have screened internationally at Tribeca Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Her NYU thesis film, Salt of Our Sea, had its world premiere in the International Competition at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in 2026. Her projects have received support from the Doha Film Institute, NYU’s Black Family Prize for Thesis Film Production, the Cinephilia Screenwriting Lab, Studio 20Q, and BAFTA.

Drawing from her lived experience, Bedair creates intimate stories centered on queer Muslim Egyptian women and girls navigating family, faith, desire, cultural inheritance, and the expectations attached to womanhood.

Alongside her filmmaking practice, she has worked across film education, curatorial practice, public programming, and artist development. In each of these areas, she is committed to creating thoughtful and inclusive spaces in which emerging artists and underrepresented stories can develop on their own terms.
