Nada Bedair is a BAFTA scholar, a Film at Lincoln Center Academy Artist and an award-winning Egyptian filmmaker based in New York. She recently obtained her MFA in film/tv at New York University: Tisch School of the Arts. Her work was featured in various film festivals including Palm Springs ShortFest and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. She has received support for her work from institutions such as Doha Film Institute, Black Family Fund, Cinephilia, Studio 20Q and BAFTA. Bedair is passionate about female-centric stories that celebrate queer BIPOC characters on their journey of self-discovery and womanhood. She often portrays the secretly rebellious inner lives of queer Muslim Egyptian women in patriarchal communities.
